Smart-Senior-line-dancing

Shaking a leg often on the dance floor is an enjoyable exercise that can provide several benefits for seniors.  Dancing has all of the health benefits of other forms of exercise and it has some powerful effects on the brain, too.   Learn how Founder and CEO of Keyline Home Care Solutions, cut a rug with local seniors in Villa Rica, GA at their bi-weekly Friday night dance.

What are the health benefits of dancing?
Dancing is an excellent workout.  It is a great cardio exercise that is good for the heart and good for preventing heart disease and high blood pressure. In addition, dancing and music are very therapeutic and can have mental health benefits. Dancing may help seniors improve their memory, reduce their risk of depression, and fight stress. Dance can also be used as physical therapy, as it can help seniors improve their balance and reduce their risk of falling. According to a new study, seniors who participated in thirty minutes of dancing (three days a week for three months) had a 50 percent improvement in balance and fewer falls.
